About Us

SCI is the leader in protecting the freedom to hunt and in promoting wildlife conservation worldwide.

Being a nonprofit organization with dedication to education, conservation of wildlife, and the preservation of our hunting rights, our money goes to these causes. The money to further these causes comes primarily from our annual fundraising banquet. Since the first of the year 2000, our chapter has donated over $500,000 to causes we feel are worthwhile. For education, conservation, and humanitarian services, over 80% of our money has been spent in Alabama.

Safari Club International is the fastest growing and most proactive hunting organization in the world. Founded in 1971, SCI has grown to more than 37,000 members and more than one million affiliated members worldwide. Our bond is our love of hunting and wildlife conservation. SCI is a leader in wildlife conservation issues throughout the world, from the great prairies of North America to the savannahs, veldt, and jungle of Africa and to the windswept mountains of Asia.
